Classical Piano

Welcome
Welcome to my site. I'm a classical piano teacher who has been working for decades with all ages and levels from beginning through late intermediate. I teach out of my studio in North Oakland on a beautiful grand piano.
Our Journey
You would learn a comprehensive skill set that includes ear training, sight-reading, theory, learning pieces and for children, performance opportunities.
You would learn
Our Journey
Students will learn skills that can benefit them in all of life, not just piano. They will learn how persistence works, and that delayed gratification is often rewarding.
They will learn how to find goals for each practice session, which creates focus and much more interest in the process. Practice becomes a time of discovery and enjoyment.
I hope for students to learn the beauty of music and how to express themselves through their playing.
Included in our lessons is sightreading, ear-training, theory, technique, the learning of pieces and for students (ages 6 through high school) there are performance opportunities.

About Me
I am a member of MTAC (Music Teachers Association of Calfiornia), the Berkeley Piano Club, and perform in three different private classical piano groups. I played for theater and accompanied singers. Then there was a decade of playing for ballet and modern dance classes and churches.
I have taught classical piano for over 50 years, retrained in the Taubman method, which helps prevent injury and offers technical help, and continue to study with my own teacher. I look forward to continued work with students that really want to learn to play.
