You would learn
"Phyllis is a very good teacher. My youngest daughter has been taking from her for over 12 years."

Our Musical Journey
Though study and practice, students learn the life skills of persistence and focus and attention to detail, to foster the learning process. This will eventually lead to not only personal growth, but also pride in their accomplishment.
Goals are set for practicing so that the learning process becomes a time of discovery, satisfaction and enjoyment.
The first lesson will be an evaluation as to skill level, any specific individual needs, and what the student hopes to achieve from lessons.
Clear expectations about home practice will be set.
I try to work with kindness and encouragement and hope to show and share the pleasure of making music.

"She is particularly good with
serious students and those ready to master more challenging technical issues."

About Phyllis Plotkin
I am a member of the Music Teachers Association of California,
and also a member of the Berkeley Piano Club. I perform in three private piano groups on a regular basis, and have accompanied dancers, church choirs and singers.
I have taught classical piano for decades and retrained in the Taubman method, which works with physical approaches that make playing pieces technically easier. Also this method teaches how to avoid injury.
I enjoy working with all ages and levels and look forward to making the lesson time as one of learning, interest and discovery.
